Matthew Miller MDDr. Matthew Miller, a Rochester native, specializes in head and neck cancer and microvascular reconstructive surgery. He received his medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse and came to the University of Rochester after completing his residency at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia and advanced fellowship training in head and neck oncologic surgery and microvascular reconstruction at the Ohio State University.

An associate professor in otolaryngology, Dr. Miller specializes in cancers of the head and neck, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, and anterior cranial base surgery, among other areas. His research interests include considering the role of human papillomavirus in head and neck cancers, novel surgical approaches in head and neck surgery, and delineating optimal treatment paradigms for oropharyngeal carcinoma. Dr. Miller has published in many leading journals, and has written several review articles and textbook chapters.
